Ice-cube Tray Mochi Mochi is a traditional Japanese dessert, cold and sweet. The original way of making this dessert however, is complicated and long. Learn the easy way to create this delicacy with the convenience of modern materials.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Your favourite 3 flavours of ice-cream

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix together the rice flour, water and sugar. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Poke a few holes in the plastic wrap to allow the mixture to vent.
  2. Microwave the mixture of rice flour, water, and sugar for 2 minutes. Let it cool before rolling it with a rolling pin.
  3. Cut the dough and place it into the ice cube tray. Knuckling it into the pockets helps not tear the dough.
  4. Scoop each flavor of ice cream into the pockets and cover with another sheet of rice dough. Freeze for 1 hour.
  5. Flip the ice cube tray and cut the mochi cubes using a pizza cutter. Enjoy!
